Early Voting Poll Greeters & Precinct Operations — 2026
Early voting begins in just a few days, and VBDC Precinct Operations is preparing coverage for the full early-voting period and Election Day. With 45 days of early voting, 108 Virginia Beach precincts, and five satellite locations during the final stretch, the source material identifies roughly 1,500 volunteer shifts to cover.
Poll Greeters serve as a final campaign point of contact before voters enter to cast their ballots. VBDC’s Voter Guide identifies the committee’s endorsed local candidates by district and includes the committee’s position on the three proposed constitutional amendments. Virginia law does not permit party designations for local candidates on the ballot, so voters will not see Democratic or Republican labels next to City Council and School Board candidates.

Virtual Poll Greeter training will be offered every Sunday at 6:00 PM beginning September 20. Volunteers who sign up for shifts will receive training information by email.

PRECINCT OPERATIONS NEEDS
Poll Greeters
Volunteer for available early-voting and Election Day greeting shifts and provide VBDC campaign literature where permitted.
Bundlers
Approximately 40,000–50,000 Voter Guides need to be bundled into groups of 50. Bundle Parties are planned for October 16 and 17.
Substitutes
Join the substitute list so Precinct Operations has volunteers to contact when a scheduled greeter can no longer cover a shift.
Runners
Election Day runners deliver materials to precincts when supplies need replenishment. Runners must be available on Election Day, November 3.
