We honor those who organize and advocate for working people—and reaffirm our commitment to good jobs, strong public schools, safe workplaces, economic opportunity, and the freedom of workers to have a meaningful voice in their future.

This Labor Day, VBDC celebrates organized labor and the working people who built America—and remembers the lesson behind their progress: people organized, stood together, and acted. From defending Doris Miller's legacy to standing with servicemembers, working families, and our endorsed candidates, solidarity requires more than recognizing what is wrong. Solidarity is a verb.

Belief without organization is aspiration. Organization turns belief into consequence. VBDC Chair Sean Monteiro reflects on why lasting change depends on ordinary people organizing, investing in one another, and doing the work required to move the American Promise forward.
