🌊 Virginia Beach Democrats Celebrate Victories for Good Governance and Our Rights

What a night for Virginia — and for Virginia Beach!

If you didn’t see me last night, it’s because I, along with many of you, was out late cleaning up precincts and resetting after an outstanding Election Day performance. And what a performance it was!

Across the Commonwealth, Virginians delivered resounding victories for good governance, accountability, and democracy itself. Congratulations to Governor- Elect Abigail Spanberger, Lieutenant Governor-Elect Senator Ghazala Hashmi, and Attorney General-Elect Jay Jones on their decisive wins — and to our champions in the House of Delegates: Delegate Alex Askew (HD-95), Delegate Kelly Fowler (HD-96), Delegate Michael Feggans (HD-97), and Commissioner of Revenue Phil Kellam for leading the way in Virginia Beach!

We also celebrate the valiant and inspiring races of Cheryl Smith (HD-98), Cat Porterfield (HD-99), Liz Richardson (HD-100), and Suzanne Richmond (Commonwealth Attorney) — each one a testament to courage, conviction, and community.

And of course — the people of Virginia Beach spoke loud and clear with a Vote YES on 10-1, securing a historic win for our voting rights and fair district representation. This is a victory for every voter and for the principle that every neighborhood deserves a voice.

These wins didn’t happen by accident. They happened because of you — our members, volunteers, and labor partners — who knocked doors, made phone calls, set up precincts, and engaged voters. You are the heartbeat of this movement.

So today, take pride. Reflect on the role you played in these victories. Celebrate this moment — then rest up. Because our work to build a more just, inclusive, and democratic Virginia is just beginning.
